Kitsap Transit honored our top Routed and ACCESS operators with Driver of the Year Awards on Wednesday, March 12, in recognition of their contributions to the public over the past year.

On March 16, Kitsap Transit will add Sunday bus service on Bainbridge Island, the last phase in our rollout of Sunday bus service that began in 2023.

Kitsap Transit is making changes to Routes 93, 94, 223, 307, 390 and 391, and introducing Sunday bus service between Bainbridge Island and Poulsbo. 

Last month, Kitsap Transit selected a site near Bree Drive SW in Bremerton as the preferred location for a new bus operator training facility.

On March 5, Kitsap Transit is switching to a new rider alerts platform, SimplifyTransit, that will allow riders to receive personalized text and email notifications for their bus and ferry routes. 

Kitsap Transit’s passenger-only ferries carried a record 1.22 million riders in 2024, 12% more than the previous year. Systemwide, Kitsap Transit’s ferry services maintained 99% reliability and 97% on-time performance in 2024.
