Year in Review: The top five Kitsap Transit stories of 2024
In 2024, Kitsap Transit made great strides forward, including opening a brand new transit center in Silverdale that will help us better serve our riders. We received more than $40 million in grant funding for several important projects and implemented Sunday bus service in Silverdale, Port Orchard and Poulsbo.

Kitsap Transit is rolling out new software in 2025 that will empower riders to receive more personalized, timely and informative rider alerts. It's one of a slew of rider-information upgrades in the works that will improve how we engage with the community.

While driving a bus can seem intimidating, it's an important job integral to many of our neighbors' daily lives. Bus operators, whether driving a fixed route or ACCESS paratransit, make it possible for other people to get to work, school, appointments, groceries or recreation. It's a career with purpose.

Test your bike on KT’s prototype fast ferry bike rack before Dec. 31
We’ve installed a prototype of a newly designed bike rack at the Bremerton Ferry Dock, and we want your feedback!
Test your bike, scan the QR code, and tell us what you think. The prototype will stay at the dock until Dec. 31, 2024.
Winter service change: Here are the bus route changes that went into effect Dec. 8
Kitsap Transit’s winter service change went into effect on Sunday, Dec. 8, with changes to Routes 9, 212, 217, 223, 229, 265, 333, 344, 390 and Purdy Ride.
We also added the new Route 391, that connects the ferry terminals in Kingston and Bainbridge Island.
