Bainbridge Island gets Sunday bus service

A Route 390 bus waits for passengers at the North Viking Transit Center in Poulsbo.

On March 16, Kitsap Transit will add Sunday bus service on Bainbridge Island, the last phase in our rollout of Sunday bus service that began in 2023.

We’re excited to add Sunday service on Bainbridge! Here’s how it’ll work:

Route 390–Poulsbo/Bainbridge will operate every hour from 8:10 AM to 5:00 PM between the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal and the North Viking Transit Center in Poulsbo.

Sunday On-Demand service on Bainbridge will operate from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, just like it does in other areas of the county where we operate this service.

Sunday On-Demand service is a distinct service from Kitsap Transit’s BI Ride service. The service area, hours, and customer service phone number are different.

  • You can use the Ride Pingo app to schedule an on-demand ride anywhere within the service area or call 1-844-475-7433.

    • Note: Passengers cannot book an On-Demand Ride if both their pickup and drop-off locations are within 1/4 mile of Route 390. However, if your pickup location is more than 1/4 of a mile away from Route 390, we will drop you off within the 1/4 mile buffer in order to connect with fixed-route service.

  • On-Demand buses also make a few scheduled stops. Visit kitsaptransit.com/Sunday for the Bainbridge service area map and a list of scheduled stops.

  • ACCESS service will be available within 3/4 of a mile of our fixed routes during the same hours.

Currently, all Sunday On-Demand trips can be booked no more than two hours in advance. Starting March 16, rides can be booked up to seven days in advance. This change aligns Sunday On-Demand with BI Ride, which has the same pre-booking policy.

If you have questions, please contact Kitsap Transit's Customer Service staff by calling 360.373.2877 or 800.501.RIDE.
