1. Election Day: Take transit to the polls on (or before!) November 5

Route 226 passes in front of a ballot box on 6th Street in Bremerton.

With under a week to go until Election Day, now is a great time to figure out where you’re going to vote. The good news is there are plenty of ways to get to a ballot box or voting center using public transit!

2. Tips for taking transit this winter

You can pick up a safety flasher light at Kitsap Transit’s customer service office at the Bremerton Transportation Center.

During the darker winter months, your bus driver may have difficulty seeing you alongside the road. Here are some helpful tips to stay safe while boarding your bus!

3. Kitsap Transit receives $13.5 million grant to buy new fast ferry for Kingston-Seattle route

The M/V Enetai passes in front of Mount Rainier on its way to Kingston.

Kitsap Transit will receive $13.5 million in federal funding to buy a new fast ferry that would replace an older vessel operating the Kingston/Seattle route, improving the Kingston Fast Ferry service’s reliability.

4. Innovate hydrofoil ferry wins $5.2 million for development

In September, Kitsap Transit was awarded $1.2 million for the design of an all-electric, zero-emission fast ferry demonstration vessel and its shoreside charging infrastructure. This grant, combined with a $4 million state Legislature grant, will help pay for the design of a scaled-down version of the 150-passenger vessel.

5. We want your feedback! Weigh in on our bus driving training facility siting study before Oct. 31

A Kitsap Transit navigates a temporary training course in Central Kitsap.

There’s still time left to weigh in! Our online open house for a proposed bus driver training facility is open until Oct. 31. Check it out here and leave your feedback on the siting study process and the four possible locations for the facility.
