Last year, our ferry crews responded to an unprecedented number of significant safety events. We want to recognize 13 crew members who stepped up in these instances and helped resolve potentially dangerous situations.

In the 2000s, Kitsap Transit took on a fast ferry research project, upgraded it’s Worker/Driver fleet and moved into new digs in downtown Bremerton.

Starting tomorrow, Sept. 7, Washington State Ferries will close the Seattle/Bainbridge Island route to car and bike traffic. Our service will change to match the temporary one-boat schedule.

Washington State Ferries’ Bainbridge-Seattle route will be reduced to a one-boat schedule Sept. 7-13 while crews install a new walkway.
