Take the Week Without Driving challenge Sep. 30 to Oct. 6

Passengers walk on the transit deck at the Bremerton Transportation Center.

Think about all the places you drive. If you had to complete all your errands for one week without a car, could you? How would that change the way you view transportation?

For many people, life without a vehicle is a reality. That’s why we’re inviting you to join the #WeekWithoutDriving challenge from Sep. 30 to Oct. 6. This initiative isn't just about experiencing life without driving; it's an opportunity to understand the barriers faced by millions of non-drivers daily and spark significant change in our transportation habits, policies, and overall community well-being.

Kitsap Transit is proud to participate in and support our community through the Week Without Driving Challenge. While online trip planners like Google Maps or mobile apps can provide guidance on how to get from Point A to Point B on transit, we recognize that some people appreciate talking through the details with someone.

We invite you to take this quick survey to tell us where your trip needs to start and end. If you’ve never ridden public transit before, here are a few tips for getting started:

  • First, check out our guide on how to read a bus schedule

  • …then explore our Route maps for North, Central and South Kitsap.

  • If you have questions about a route, or just want help planning your trip, contact our Customer Service Office at 1-800-501-7433.

  • Elderly and disabled riders can learn more about our ACCESS paratransit service by clicking this link or calling 1-360-479-7272.

  • Kitsap Transit offers travel training! Learn how to use our services one-on-one with an experienced instructor. Click here to learn more.
