Transit is Why: Keeping Kitsap County connected
Public transit is why Kitsap County residents can reliably access work, school, and essential services. Residents like Kate H., a long-time rider of Kitsap Transit’s paratransit (ACCESS) buses.
Kate walked to work every day before she sustained an injury in a car accident and had to use a walker.
“Now, I use ACCESS, which has literally been the difference between staying in my single-family home or not,” Kate said.
Transit is Why is a new public education campaign, led by the Washington State Transit Association. Its goal is to raise awareness about the essential role public transit plays in our communities by sharing stories like Kate’s. From connecting people to jobs and education to supporting our local economy, public transit is the backbone of a thriving community.
