A Timeline of Public Transit in Kitsap County

This year, Kitsap Transit is celebrating its 40th anniversary. From a row of five houses on Charleston Boulevard, to a county-spanning bus and ferry system, we’re proud to have served the residents of Kitsap County since 1983. The history of transit in the West Sound predates KT by many years, however. We’ve put together a timeline of Kitsap Transit, the ups and downs the agency experienced over the years, and our plans for the future. We hope you enjoy it!
